SGIP is a complete cash incentive program. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) wants to stay away from building expensive fossil-fueled power plants in which they created a program that may cover the cost of battery and installation. Residents and companies that are settled in high-risk fire zones are more likely to get an increased incentive; However, Residents and companies can apply for this program if they use medical devices or own a well-pump.
